Diamond Rings: How To Consider The Four Cs
A diamond is a thing of beauty that dazzles
the eye and convinces the mind. You would not be able to think of anything
apart from a brilliant diamond(s) when it is time to give her an engagement
ring. Sure, the wedding rings were crafted out of plain yellow gold
traditionally, but you are more then welcome to embellish them with diamonds
today. The art of buying diamond
rings is a gift that not everyone has. It is best to
discuss the pros and cons before you end up paying a huge sum for a single
diamond atop a ring.
How should you go about buying the best
possible ring when accosted with a mind-boggling variety? Well, the basics are
pretty straightforward. You need to consider the four Cs of course!
Here are the things that you must check
out.
Cut- Diamonds come in a variety of cuts. The
round cut remains the classic one that is the one you have to match when you
opt for a fancy cut. Hold the diamond to light to recognize the tell-tale signs
of a superb cut. It is significant to view the ring in combination lighting. It
will help you to view the depth as well as the sparkle. Do not be distracted by
the shine of the metal band. It is the cut that happens to be all-important
when you want to invest in one of the best diamond rings.
Color- Opt for a ring that contains a D-graded
diamond as far as its color is concerned. Consider one graded E or F as well.
All of these diamonds are defined as colorless. The diamonds graded G, H, and I
are thought to be “near colorless.” They are a good buy, but the value may not
be as high as a colorless one. You must check the ring yourself and see how it
appears to the naked eye. The primary factor is to be satisfied with the
purchase.
Clarity- A majority of natural diamonds are flawed,
with the type of inclusions affecting their clarity. It is okay to go for a
diamond with inclusion, however. Not only will the price be more affordable,
but the cut may also hide the inclusions effectively. It is a good idea to
check the gradation terms and find out where the ring stands clarity-wise.
FL- Flawless with no blemishes and no
inclusions
IF- Internally flawless. It has no inclusions
but may have a few blemishes at the corners.
VVS- Very, very slightly included. Inclusions
are well hidden and not apparent to an untrained eye.
SI- The inclusions are obvious when viewed
under magnification. This variety is most commonly used in engagement rings,
especially to fit budgetary needs.
Included diamonds. The inclusions are
visible without magnification. These diamonds are sold at a comparatively lower
price.
Carat Weight- This is not too important when buying a
diamond. Two diamond rings of the same carat weight may not
match in size.
It is best to opt for a ring that excites
you. Follow your heart to flaunt the most magnificent diamond rings.
