Go Exclusive with Perfect cut H grade Pear Shape Diamonds.

Pear cut, teardrop, or leaf shape –Well, there are several names for one of the brilliantly cut diamonds that have stolen many hearts. The water drop shape is suitable for finger rings, earrings, and even necklaces. The pointy tip may adorn upwards or downwards on your jewel as it’s a true beauty in juxtaposition. If you are looking for something classic yet contemporary, pear drop diamonds are the best choice.

Foreword to teardrop diamond

Pear shape diamond is the name that arises from its unique teardrop cut or pendeloque cut. Although it is like any other precious stone, it gains its individuality due to the marvelous cuts. An incredibly special technique comes into use when the diamond cutter wants a leaf shape. The teardrop shape is an idyllic blend of oval and marquise cut, round at one end and pointy at the other.

The signature silhouette of pear drop diamonds is an immensely popular choice for eardrops, necklaces, and even rings. The shape is similar to round cut stones, but the narrowing shape at one end makes it desirable due to its sparkle.

Going down the Memoir

Going back to the 1400s, the pear shape diamonds were popular, are still famous, and shall remain the favorite of diamond lovers. One of the distinguished diamond cutters, Lodewyk van Berquem introduced the precious stone polishing wheel that projects every facet of the diamonds. A turning point came when these shiny stones got different shapes, and pear shapes became the top choice for many. The pear cut diamonds exhibit maximum shine by radiating light in the right direction, making them the first choice for diamond jewelers and wearers.

Lodewyk is also the creator of the 137-carat Florentine diamond that makes its name in the history of diamond makers and wearers.

Pear cut ratio – the proportion is key

There is no official cut grade for the pear shape, but any jeweler will maintain a general guideline to get the perfect silhouette. The ratio between the rounder side to the pointing side is a personal preference and fashion. A great symmetry to ensure the equal shape on both sides (vertically) is the rule of pear diamond cut. The three major ratio ranges are 1.30, 1.50, and 1.70.

Some pear shapes emit a bowtie effect as the light doesn’t immerse in the middle of the stone and emits out. You can notice a dark center visible in the middle of the diamond that adds volume to the precious stone. The bigger the bowtie, the more expensive the diamond would be – so, look for the exclusive cuts while shopping.

Fondness to color

Every diamond is known for its unique cut, but the color is equally important. There are two ranges of shades in precious stones. Grade D-F is the cooler tones, and G-H is the warmer shades in diamonds.

You might not differentiate between the tones that are closer in grade to each other. However, when you take a closer look at the tip of the diamond – it emits the real tone.
